| | | | | | | | Title of Item: | Title I, Part A Grant for Disadvantaged Children and Youth 2022-2023 | Description/Introduction: | The Title I, Part A Grant provides supplemental services to 20 Title I Public Schools and 2 Title I Private schools in Santa Rosa County. The Title I, Part A provides funding for the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) Innovate Initiative, as well as the funds for maintenance and enhancement of school-wide reading and math reform to increase the following activities: a) the amount and quality of learning time for students in grades K-12; b) the percentage of teachers participating in high quality professional development; c) parent engagement. In addition, the grant will fund the acquisition of researched-based materials and instructional technology to ensure the increase of student proficiency in reading and math and increase graduation rate with a successful transition to college and career. Funds are also allocated to provide supplemental services to students who qualify for Neglected and Delinquent and/or Homeless Education Services. | Recommendation/Action Requested: | |
