| | | | | | | | | Title of Item: | New MIP-HB7069/SB1108 (Reading/ESE) Components | | Description/Introduction: | The purpose of these new components is to meet the new state guidelines for teacher renewal requirements that started 07/01/2020. These components allow the district PD department to award points to meet HB7069 and SB1108 requirements. All components are new and were created by the ESE and/or Literacy Departments. HB7069 requires teachers of reading to earn 40 hours in specific and explicit reading instruction. SB1108 requires all teachers to earn 20 hours of instructional strategies for students with disabilities. In some cases a course will meet both requirements and this will be noted in the title of the component. | | Recommendation/Action Requested: | Request Approval |
