Title of Item:Cares Act Bldg K-12 Infrastructure Grant Synopsis
Description/Introduction:

The purpose of the CARES Act Building K-12 Infrastructure Grant is to provide resources for Santa Rosa County School District to build infrastructure and increase enrollment and capacity in high-demand CTE programs.  The purpose of this funding is to accelerate students’ readiness for work and/or immediate entry into an in-demand postsecondary program.  SRCSD currently offers the Computer Systems and Information Technology (CSIT) program at SMS and will use these federal funds to expand this program to AMS, WBM, PHS and NHS.  This expansion will allow us to build out the program of study within our school district articulating from middle school to high school to technical college.  It will also allow us to duplicate the CSIT program to increase student participation across the school district.  The CSIT program is deemed high skill, high wage and in-demand for Florida’s Region 1 and leads to industry certifications and skills which are highly supported by local business, industry and economic development partners.
