The Sunshine State Scholars Program targets juniors interested in STEM related fields. Each district is asked to submit one district scholar to attend a 2-day program in Orlando where they meet with Florida colleges and universities, hear from motivational speakers, and attend professional development sessions. Each school is asked to submit their most outstanding junior to be considered for the award. All these students hold a weighted GPA of 3.9 or higher and are on track according to current guidelines for Bright Futures Scholarships.  All nominees are incredible students with a track record of hard work and dedication to academic excellence and community service.
