| | | | | | | | | Title of Item: | 2019 Dental RFP Award | | Description/Introduction: | See attached letter for details on the Dental RFP process and recommendation for United Health Care (UHC) to take over as our new provider January 1, 2019. We are also recommending a change in plan designs that we feel will benefit more employees. This change does increase the cost of our Low Option plan and impacts the Board's coverage of free dental insurance to our employees by an estimated cost increase annually of $12,000. However, the plan benefits will be increased for these employees. | | Recommendation/Action Requested: | Recommend acceptance of the RFP Committee's recommendation of UHC as our new 2019 Dental provider. We also recommend approval of our new plan designs. |
