Dear Superintendent Wyrosdick,

At the National Institute for Governmental Purchasing (NIGP) annual conference this past August, the Santa Rosa County School Board Purchasing Department received the Sterling Agency Award presented by the Universal Public Procurement Certification Council (UPPCC).  This award recognizes those organizations that have made a concerted effort to achieve procurement excellence by having a fully certified staff.

Santa Rosa was one of only two school districts in the nation to receive the Sterling Agency Award in 2013.

UPPCC certifications include Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) and Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO). These designations are attained through the successful completion of rigorous courses of study and testing involving numerous classes within the field of government procurement as well as the attainment of specific experience within the profession. 

The district’s receipt of the Sterling Award is the direct result of the achievements of the procurement professionals in our purchasing department: Brenda Godwin, CPPB; Sandra King, CPPB and Judson C Crane, CPPO, CPPB.
